Chichester Natural History Society walk

Chichester Natural History Society walk

June 13, 2019

Chichester Natural History Society walk Thursday 13 June at 14.00
Starting point: Southernmost part of Oaklands Park, Chichester
Parking in Chichester’s Northgate carpark NB: The car park may be busy as there is a CFT matinee performance that afternoon.
Meet here for a walk through Oaklands Park, College Lane, Jubilee Gardens, and New Park (with a brief detour into Priory Park) to discuss the management of our parks and open spaces, and to view the successes and failures of one ChiNats member’s attempts to make small parts of them more wildlifefriendly.
We will finish outside New Park Centre, with light refreshments for those who are able to stay.
New Park Centre is about 5 minutes’ walk from Northgate carpark.
To help with planning, it would be useful if you could email mary.iden@gmail.com if you are intending to
join the walk. Any ideas as to how to conduct even the simplest of invertebrate surveys of the differently managed areas during our walk would be very welcome This could provide useful evidence to encourage a wildlife-friendly approach to the management of more of our public green spaces.
