World Localisation Day – June 21st

The Local Futures organisation, headed up by Helena Norbert-Hodge, has been raising awareness for four decades about the need to shift direction – away from dependence on global monopolies, and towards decentralized, regional economies. They have a number of free webinars recorded here, and are hosting World Localisation Day.

Scheduled for June 21st at 6pm in the UK, it will feature people and projects from all over the world – well-known voices like Vandana Shiva, Noam Chomsky, Annie Lennox, and Joanna Macy, stories from the grassroots about localization initiatives in both the global North and South, as well as short films, music and even comedy. This is a ticketed event, with a suggested donation.

The Local Futures website itself is well worth a look.
