Panel Discussion, Display tables from local groups and businesses, open mic session Chi Uni Folk Musicians: Mon 28th October

Dear All,  (also a note at the end about tomorrow: Mon 21st October)

Entry by Free Ticket Only, Please?
I have hired the Assembly Room in North Street, Chichester on Monday 28th October from 5:00 p.m. till 10:00 p.m.
Hope you can join us, please? The Event is co-hosted by The local Green Party, Eco Chi and XR Chichester.
Please arrive soon after 5:00 p.m. when local groups and sustainable businesses will be setting up tabletop displays.
Please let me know if you'd be interested in providing a display or helping?
At 6:00 p.m.our Green MEP Alexandra Philips is our Guest on a Panel Chaired by Heather Barrie.
This is the final stop on Alex's SE  Green New Deal Tour, before returning to Brighton with the electric bus.
At time of writing, we still have space for another panellist or two – ideally with a connection to sustainable business.
The Green New Deal was conceived 11 years ago in the UK,, but is now becoming widely adopted around the World … The UK Labour Party adopted it as Policy at their recent Conference.
Alex has asked about issues for Chichester – I've sent her 10, which is the tip of the iceberg.
Please send me any questions you may have now for the Panel.
At around 8:00 p.m. we're looking to provide tea and cake, maybe some savoury too … we can only do this with volunteers willing to help (please email me).
Also at around 8:00 p.m. I thought an open, informal 2 minute, mic session would be good – a bit like our Monday Morning Meet-ups, only a bigger audience many of whom will anyways be mingling and chatting, and touring the tabletop displays.  Several of our friends were arrested recently in London.  Alexandra was on Channel 4 News in support of the mass peaceful protest but saddened by what took place at the train stations.
With the extraordinary timing of this event, it is unlikely we can escape the B word – but not too much, please!
It will be great to share some of our current and forthcoming highlights that we put so much energy into.
At around 9:00 p.m. a small group of Chichester University musicians have kindly offered to perform.  Apparently these young people are into Dylan and Simon & Garfunkel …
A singalong would make a great end to the evening.  We must vacate the Assembly Room for 10:00 p.m.
Every Monday morning  Eco Chi Meet-up 09:30 till around 11 a.m at Crispins Cafe near the east end of East Street, Chichester. Do pop in for a drink and chat.
Support requested tomorrow, Monday 21st Meeting 12:30 at the Cathedral Green in preparation to persuade WSCC not to support Highways England Plans to drive a duel carriageway through Binsted Woods (15 species of bat, amphibian teeming ponds, ancient woodland, wonderful meadows) …… fragmentation of the Arun Valley with massive earth embankments …… and if that happens at Arundel, then where next (? !!)… it is proven that you can't cure traffic jams by building bigger roads – you just get bigger traffic jams. Time for a rethink.   In support of The Arundel SCATE:  A27 Better NOT Bigger Campaign.

Cheers,
Philip
