West Sussex County Council are currently consulting on the closure of several schools, one of which is Rumboldswhyke Infant School in Chichester.
Parents and other members of the local community school are campaigning to save it and their petition can be found here. A local school supports the sense of community, removes the need to drive and therefore improves air quality for all. The campaigners have a website with more documents here, and you can read the WSCC Consultation document here. The consultation runs to 25th November, and there is a public consultation meeting at the school on 7th November at 6.30pm.

This will be held at the meeting rooms behind Chichester College Pavilion bar on the South side of the campus (quite near the white aeroplane fuselage).
After our Transition Chichester Eco Cinema evening last week, we are in an excellent position to stage a successful Car Free Event next year in 2020. Key to our success is quickly creating a proposal to put forward to the local authorities. We need to decide on the basic structure, timing and date of the event so we can negotiate the licenses and street orders that need to be put in place. There's a draft agenda available on this link.
We also need to define tasks and roles within our group. The link to the sheet here contains tasks and roles we can adopt.
Hope you are able to join us on the 15th November.

The market company is asking all stallholders to stay until 5.30pm on Wednesdays and we can't resource this with our current set-up and team of volunteers. So there won't be a market stall for a while. We are hoping to organise a one-off Christmas-themed stall in December (date to be worked out) and then the plan is to move into Draper's Yard for a few weeks whilst we work out what we can do to build on everything we have achieved with the stall.
