Please meet on Sunday 19th Jan on junction between Salthill Road and Fishbourne Road West from 1.45 pm. We will have a minute’s silence at 2 pm in honour of Gina who lost her life on 20th November.
We will then cycle along the Chemroute together.
We hope that this can become a monthly event to show the strength of feeling that resources and energies need to go into improving the dire cycle facilities on this route.

Please join us for our 3rd tree planting session this winter: fresh air, exercise, fun and a positive action for the climate. We will be onsite for several hours so feel free to join us as and when you can. Weather is looking promising but ground is still damp so please bring wellies, drinks, snacks and suitable outdoor clothing.
No prior experience is necessary, and spades and training will be provided.
The site is remote: grid reference SU 902017 and using What3words, Tangent.Slimmer.Pushing will get you to the front gates. If driving or cycling, best to come off the B2166 (Lower Bognor Road) south of Lagness towards Morrells Farm and then past Park Farm (PO20 1LS) where you will see 2 solar farms on your right. Turn between them to get to the third, our community-owned one!
Please sign up via Eco Chi FB page if you're coming so that we have an idea of numbers and message Dave Barton if unsure about directions.

Born out of a passion for recycling and reusing and the love of finding a bargain, this simple idea is one of Transition Chichester’s big successes. There are no rules to our quarterly Swap Shops and no money changes hands. It is all about finding new homes for unwanted clutter and keeping stuff out of landfill. People bring whatever they want to bring to our events, held in various venues around the city, and take away as much as they like – all for free!
A Fairtrade cafe, with home-made cakes and bread, and soup from surplus veg, adds to the enjoyment.

Bianca Carr the Founder of Final Straw Solent, a non-profit Community Interest Company (CIC) working with local communities and businesses to highlight the impact of plastic pollution on our environment and to try to minimise the amount of plastic entering our local seas and wider oceans. They started in Emsworth in 2018 as a group of volunteers giving their time to help clean up our local community spaces and, in time, the surrounding areas. They originally focussed on encouraging businesses to cut back on the amount of disposable, pointless plastic that is used. Bianca and volunteers ran a few beach cleans and started talking to the local communities in the Solent area, and grew from there. The company now works with many different types of businesses on sustainability, helping them to find ethical and sustainable alternatives to single-use plastic in their activities. They have a very busy school outreach programme and have reached thousands of children in the Solent area through assemblies and workshops. In addition, they work with community groups, giving talks and running activities and encouraging people to avoid single-use plastic and how to best dispose of it if they do need to use it.
