Today’s Climate Action March to County Hall Friday, 15th Feb
A great turnout of support today. However, the offhand way the Motion to Declare a Climate Emergency was kicked into the long grass has left us feeling severely let down by our County Councillors. Furthermore, we heard that the WSCC Pension Fund has several £M invested in Canadian Tar Oil (Further information and source appreciated, please?)
This Chichester Observer article includes a video providing a little insight – next time a little less compliant, perhaps? Friday 5th April.
This Link displays the WSCC Committee Members and links to Calendar and video recording of today’s Full Council Meeting – worth listening to the “Point of Order” right at the start, where the Chair then refused to even acknowledge our Demonstration.
Clearly, we have to significantly up the anti, which must include a huge number of emails individually to all these Councillors …. Please don’t hold back, now.
Within our Eco Meet-up Chichester Umbrella, we have a lot of support for Extinction Rebellion …. Extinction Rebellion Chichester (First Meeting held on 12th February) ….. Please talk to Liz M, Rachel Ritchie, Lucy, Paula C and Tom Broughton …..
There was a noticeable absence of Young People on the Demonstration in Chichester Today … obviously, an area for us to work upon – especially given the successes elsewhere. #YouthStrike4Climate
Drapers Yard: Would like an Eco Meet-up Poster,
Return The Plastic
Lucinda is unable to organise nor take part in an Event on Saturday 2nd March.
However, if a group is able to create and support an Event – so keeping up the successful momentum on the first Saturday of March? It is Bognor’s turn – Poundland suggested ?
Lucinda has offered to organise an Event on Saturday 9th March, possibly at Morrisons, Bognor Regis – This relies upon others being willing to support her. Please contact Lucinda.
Lucinda has a Teracycle Letter available for Schools.
Lucinda requests us to write to Gillian Keegan M.P. re Early Day Motion – that U.K. should not send our waste plastic overseas.

Noted there is an Electric Powered Tour Boat that sails from Emsworth.
Jaqui Taylor & Steve Jackson: Flagging up the dangers of 5G, especially with reference to this Lancet Article [mislaid – sorry Stephen].
